What do you do when it all goes wrong?

falling off

I recently stumbled upon this old video of Richard Spooner and it really is an amazing bit of riding!

This video also reminded me of one of my all time favourite riders, Andrew Nicholson (Mr Stickability.) For those of you who haven’t seen some of his amazing gravity defying moments, here are a few of my favourites!

Watching this amazing riding really made me think about what I would do in these situations. Well, for both of Nicholson’s videos I know exactly what I would do. ~ I would be on the floor hoping my horse didn’t run off too far! The Spooner video is a little harder. I wouldn’t let go of the reins intentionally! And I’m not sure I would try and pull the horse up or out to the side… I have a feeling I would just hold my neck strap for dear life and hope it all ended okay!

What do you do in a ‘crisis’ moment? Or what would you do in these situations?
