Some of you may have noticed that things have been relatively quiet on here and our social media for the past month or so, apart from all the Badminton excitement. This is because, unfortunately, at the end of March I was told I would be made redundant at the end of April. Luckily I was offered garden leave, which I took, and have spent a lot of time considering my next move.
This redundancy came at the perfect time (if there is such a thing as a perfect time for redundancy!) as it meant when I received media accreditation for Badminton Horse Trials I was able to go for the entire thing. This was a fantastic experience for me and not only allowed me to improve my journalism skills but also allowed me to interact with lots of new businesses. I have recently applied for media accreditation for Burghley and have everything crossed that we are accepted.
During my time ‘off’ I have been doing a lot of job hunting, having decided that I want to continue down the marketing/PR route. I have had a few interviews so far and am pleased to say that there is plenty of work out there, it is just a case of finding one what fits. The job search is still on and I hope to find something soon.
I have also used this time to have a good think about my aims for EquiPepper and start to make long term plans and goals and I hope that EquiPepper will become a lot more professional over the next few months, but don’t worry, I intend on keeping all the character! We still have a few exciting things coming up, including out training camp in a few weeks time!
I originally thought that during all this time ‘off’ I would have got a lot of writing done. But it seems job hunting and planning stole most of creative juices! But I plan on being more active from now on and hopefully we will be back to normal in no time.
