I know we didn’t make the big final tomorrow at the World Cup, but I do think England got further and played better than any of us thought they would. So since they are playing their final game of the World Cup for 3rd place and after the success of my Equine World Cup Team post, I thought I would take it to the next step and choose my 5 equine penalty takers!

Possibly the most famous modern racehorse, Frankel finished his racing career unbeaten! This winning streak is surely something I would look for in a penalty taker! - Valegro
While Valegro can’t boast Frankel’s unbeaten record, he took the dressage world by storm winning Gold medals in back to back Olympics and breaking world records. - Many Clouds
This champion horse not only won the Grand National in 2015, but tried his heart out every time he ran. He even held on and gave his all in his final race where he pipped unbeaten Thistlecrack to the post. - Arctic Soul
This cross country machine regularly places high in top level events and helped rider Gemma Tattersall win the Event Rider Masters last year. While he may not claiming the top spots, he is consistently high on the leaderboard. - Quality Old Joker
This horse seems to be able to turn his hoof to anything. After watching him win a puissance at Olympia a few years ago, I always look out for him. Since then I have seen him make several more puissances look effortless and he even made fairly light work of the Hickstead Derby!
