Some of you may know from previous posts I have written, I do enjoy a good console game! Having grown up with the likes of the Pippa Funnell games, I have high expectations of horse games. And apart from Champion Jockey Racer game which came out on Xbox 360 a few years ago, very little has been released since the Pippa Funnell games and nothing has matched up. However, a new game coming this year looks very promising indeed!
“riding is more than a sport, it’s a way of life”
My Little Riding Champion
This game is aimed to mimic horse ownership. After inheriting a once successful riding centre, you have bond with and train your horse to take on your rivals at competition and restore the stables to its former glory. The open world allows you to explore the countryside on horseback and aims to mimic the uniqueness of equestrian sport by balancing competition with trust and appreciation of the horse you are working with. I am excited to see how they manage this!
Not a huge amount is known about the game just yet, with the only details available from a fairly early days press release. But the key points they highlighted in the game are:
- Many different horses to choose from
- True horse management, from daily care to emotional bonding
- A large number of customisation options
- An open world encouraging to be explored during many long rides
- Many competitions and rewards
This game will be available on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. I am planning on getting it on Xbox One and will let you all know what I think of it once it has arrived!
