Losing my Umph…

hacking out, umph

With Scottie out of action and me not feeling the need to rush his rehab back to work, I am feeling a tad… lost. I know that if I really want to get back in the saddle there are more things the vet can try right away. But we still have a week left of our months rest since his last visit, so I want to at least wait until then first as we have made quite a few changes this month already and I haven’t trotted him up to see where we are. So right now I am still in a state of limbo as to what our plans are and when I might be back on board.

I usually love watching what everyone else is up to and getting inspiration from them to try new things and make plans. But right now I am just watching everyone else and wondering when I can start doing things again. In the past when he has been off work, he has needed controlled exercise, such as in hand walking etc. So I was able to keep myself occupied by doing bits and pieces with him like that. But since he is out in the field as usual, he doesn’t need the movement and I’m not sure how good a thing it would be to take him in the arena when I suspect soft tissue damage in the foot.

So instead I am looking for something to keep me occupied in the meantime to stop me losing any more of my mojo. Something to keep me motivated so that when we get the all clear to crack back on I am ready! (Which hopefully might be before Christmas!) As not only is my riding mojo fading fast, but it’s also sapping my blogging inspiration!

So, back to the original point of this post, do you guys have any ideas of what I can do to keep motivated? Ideally something with Scottie if possible?
