Paris Dixie April Update

Introducing Paris Dixie. Credit The Owners Group

Things have been fairly quiet on the Paris Dixie front recently. We were hoping she would run in a Champion Bumper at the beginning of April at Aintree. But despite having good form, she hasn’t got a fantastic rating and was unfortunately balloted out of the race. So, it now looks like she will be having a bit of a holiday over the Summer.

Paris Dixie has had a few sessions schooling over hurdles this month and Nicky Henderson is very pleased with how she is going. She has taken to hurdles very well which hopefully bodes well for when she comes back after her holiday! He has also said she is a good jumper and seems to enjoy her work. Hopefully this means these things won’t be completely new to her when she comes back, which is always helpful.

We currently don’t know just how long she will be on holiday for. But it looks like she will be off until the end of July with the aim of getting fit in time for the end of the flat season. Then hopefully we will start seeing her race over some hurdles later in the year – which would be fantastic! It sounds like she prefers wetter ground, so it may well be nearly Christmas before we see her run. But it’s impossible to tell right now!

She’s only young, so hopefully she has a good holiday and comes back ready for work. I will keep you updated with what is going on. But since she will be on holiday, I can’t imagine there will be much to share with you. So expect longer periods between updates!
