Wont Wait ~ The Missing Ex Racehorse at Badminton

Wont Wait at Badminton

So while going through some of my final Badminton details yesterday, I stumbled upon an ex racehorse I had completely missed from my coverage! This 15 year old bay gelding retired from the racing industry as a 4 year old and has been produced by Clara Loiseau for eventing.

Wont Wait made his debut at this level at Pau last year where he came 3rd. This was their first visit to Badminton and I am pleased to say it went pretty well for them.

They finished their dressage with 38.1 penalties, putting them a bit worse of than middle of the leaderboard. But as we saw over the week, Badminton really isn’t a dressage competition!

Clara and Won’t Wait jumped roughly 30 places up the leaderboard after the cross country, where they managed to get round clear with just 13.6 time penalties. I actually saw a lot of their cross country round and they were flying round.

Unfortunately, they had 2 poles down in the show jumping, which meant they finished the competition in a respectable 28th place with 59.7 penalties. But since Arctic Soul has previously won the RoR award, Wont Wait and Clara Loiseau picked up this cash prize!
