After a very exciting weekend at the European Championships in Germany, I am now getting ready for Burghley horse trials which kicks off later this week. I am pleased to say that I will be heading there this weekend as the press to follow the ex-racehorses competing.Β So keep an eye on my Instagram this weekend for live updates.
Burghley 2019
With many of the top riders having been at the championships last week, I canβt help but feel that perhaps the non-European riders might be at a slight advantage at Burghley this year. After all, the Prices have 4 horses competing this week, one being Ringwood Sky Boy who won here last year. Plus with the Olympics next year, lots of riders will be looking to secure a place on the team. So I am sure it is going to be a very exciting week for eventing!
Ex racehorses at Burghley 2019
Having had a look through the start list for this year’s event, I can only see 3 ex racehorses taking place:
- Arctic Soul
- Captain Jack
- Wonβt Wait
Since I have seen all these horses before and written about their progress at multiple 5 star events, I wonβt be giving you a quick introduction into them now. If you want to find out more, you can find them all on our ex racehorse page.
Are you heading to Burghley?
If any of you are heading to Burghley do come and say Hi if you see me walking around. I will probably have some EquiPepper branded wear on! I’m there on the Saturday and Sunday and after watching the cross country preview, it looks like a really challenging track.
