Stallion chosen for Cupboard Love

cupboard love, owners group

A little while ago I introduced you to the new racehorse, Cupboard Love, I have a share in through the Owners Group. She has retired from racing after not returning to her previous success on the racetrack after recovering from injury and with success as a juvenile, she will be going on to be a broodmare. So this syndicate is a breeding syndicate rather than a racing one.

Well last week I got an exciting update that they had found a stud for her to go to and chosen a stallion. She will be going to Kirtlington stud in Oxfordshire and will be covered by one of the Darley Stallions, Territories. For those of you who may not be familiar with the Darley racehorses, it is the breeding side of the Godolphin racing, owned by Sheikh Mohammed. They race in the royal blue and have a fantastic retraining and rehoming programme for their ex racehorses.

Territories is a fairly new stallion with his first foals now 2 year olds. But so far they have been popular in the sales and as a Group 1 winner himself with placings in the Classics, he is an exciting stallion to be using! You can find out a bit more about him on his stallion profile here.

Cupboard Love will be heading off to stud just as soon as her vet check come back clear. But hopefully we will have news on whether she is in foal or not by October, which is incredibly exciting! I will hopefully be able to visit her at the stud soon too. So keep your eyes peeled for some fresh photographs!
