We are now well and truly into the national hunt season and it is exciting to see more Owners Group horses back on the track. There have been plenty of wins over the last few weeks too! So even though I don’t have a share in them all, I always enjoy following them.
Paris Dixie & Wouldubewell back in training
Both Paris Dixie and Wouldubewell are back in training after their holiday. Paris Dixie has had her first run back over hurdles. It was a little bit disappointing and Nicky Henderson thinks maybe she needs to run more prominently, possibly losing interest slightly sitting behind the leaders.
Wouldubewell is going chasing this year and is waiting for some soft ground. Although there is hope the rain will come in time for her to have a run next weekend. But she is looking really good and we should have an exciting season with her.
A year off for Chez Hans
You might have seen that Chez Hans has had an incredible spell this year. He managed an incredible 6 wins over hurdles this season before having an unlucky fall in his last race. Before the fall the feel was to give him 1 or 2 more runs before giving him a holiday. So after the fall the decision was made to give him a holiday sooner than planned.
He seemed absolutely fine after his fall and was enjoying his break. During a routine check up they noticed a little heat in his leg and found a small tendon injury. He wasn’t lame and shouldn’t need any treatment. But he will most likely be having a whole year off to give him the best chance of returning to racing without further injury.
The others are all looking good. Asdaa has had a bit of a quiet time recently but is still training and running occasionally. Cupboard Love has scanned to be still in foal & Tambourine Girl is due to move to the stud soon.
