Owners Group Update ~ Wouldubewell does it again!

It’s an exciting time as a racehorse owner at the moment. Not only have I got a new horse in my stable, we’ve had some exciting races and hopefully a baby hitting the ground very soon.

National Hunt

Wouldubewell had her first visit to the racecourse in a while early December. It was her first time chasing and she didn’t disappoint! She managed to win despite carrying nearly 2 stone more than the horse in second place. She followed this up a few weeks later stepping up in class over a distance we thought might be a bit too short, galloping through the line in 3rd place. Another half a furlong and I think she would have won. But far from a disappointing run. We will hopefully see her back out soon.

Paris Dixie has been a bit disappointing in her racing. She has so much promise but in her last race in particular, as soon as the other horses surrounded her she backed right off and lost interest. It might just be a confidence issue. But she is currently having a short break so she can get a full MOT to make sure there isn’t anything else going on.

Chez Hans is still enjoying his extended break from racing after he picked up a minor tendon injury. He is looking great and hopefully I will get over to EquiPrep to see him soon.

Broodmares

Cupboard Love is due to foal towards the end of this month/early February. So all being well, I will have a new horse in my Owners Group stable very soon! It will be a long journey before we see this horse on the racecourse, but I think it should be a really rewarding journey.

Tambourine Girl is also at stud and all being well, se should be covered in the next few months. A stallion has just been chosen for her, Mayson. He was a top class sprinter and has already produced a Group 1 winner in Oxted. But all being well, this time next year we could be expecting 2 new foals if Cupboard Love is put back in foal.

Flat Racing

Both Asdaa and my newbie Genesius are currently enjoying a well deserved break. Asdaa has been running well recently, but the handicapper has got him spot on and he is struggling to get his head in front. But I really can’t fault him. He always tries so hard. Genesius should be returning from his holiday soon and we should start to see him out and about.
