Valentine’s gifts should be thoughtful, showing them you know them. If you happen to be dating a horse owner, you know (or at least you should by now) that their horse is their whole world. But if you don’t know the difference between a brushing boot and a tendon boot, it can be difficult to know where to start when buying them a gift. So we have come up with 4 different Valentine’s gift themes for horse owners. Play it safe or pick a more adventerous option.
Play It Safe
If you really don’t know where to start (and you don’t want to ask) a safe bet can be a gift card for their favourite horsey brand. Don’t go generic! Most horse owners will have brands they love and brands they avoid. So don’t just go and get the one at the first website you find. If you aren’t sure, check the labels on their coats and breeches for the brand. If you don’t venture to the yard too often, zoom in on their social media photos to see if you can see any brand names in the photos of their horse (there will be plenty to look at!) If you are still stuck, try reaching out to one of their horsey friends and have them point you in the right direction.
EQUUS stocks most brands. So their gift card is always a good starting place.
Make Their Horse The Star
We know that their horse is their world. Anything about their horse they will love! You could browse their social media for nice photos of their horse and turn these into a meaningful Valentine’s day gift. I have a few of my favourite photos of Scottie blown up on canvas. You can get them framed, put on mugs, cushions, clothes and calendars. You really can do anything with them! If you want to go the extra mile. You can look into getting them a professional photo shoot with their horse.

Thoughtful ~ A horsey twist on a classic gift
Jewellery is a classic gift for women. I am yet to meet a woman who is disappointed with jewellery, it’s just not very inspired. But did you know their are brands out there that specialise in horse themed jewellery? I think this can be the perfect Valentine’s gift for a horse owner. I personally am a big fan of Pegasus Jewellery. I live in their vitality bracelets and love their horsey themed Inspo bangels. But there are other brands available who create horse themed jewellery.

Adventerous ~ Plan a horsey day out
Part of a relationship is showing an interest in what makes them happy, even if you aren’t actually that interested in it! Sometimes showing an interest and having a day out with them can be the best gift of all. Try buying tickets to your closest racecourse, or to one of their favourite horse shows and go with them! If you want to go for something you are more likely to enjoy, check out our post of horsey activities for non horsey partners.
