Just over 8 weeks ago I did a bit of research into a new joint supplement for Scottie. After his arthritis diagnosis the vet recommended a joint supplement with Glucosamine or MSM as they seem to the two ingredients he has seen have the most success. So these were my starting point. There are so many options out there that I turned to my Instagram followers for their recommendations. The top two were NAF SuperFlex and NAF Glucosamine 10,000 Plus MSM.

I decided to go for the NAF Glucosamine 10,000 purely due to price. It is roughly half the price of the SuperFlex. It has very similar levels of Glucosamine, just less MSM and none of the extra ingredients. I thought I would start him with the cheaper Glucosamine with the option of upgrading to the SuperFlex if I didn’t feel like I was seeing great results.

Scottie Feels Fantastic!

After 8 weeks of feeding NAF Glucosamine 10,000 Plus MSM we have finished our first 900g tub and Scottie looks and feels fantastic! It’s hard to put this all down to the new supplement. I started feeding it a few days after his steroid injection. I have also been a bit more on it with his work. But all of these factors combined have resulted in Scottie feeling the best he ever has.

There is no cure to arthritis, so I was never expecting a miracle cure from feeding this supplement. The supplement is purely there to help support his joints and slow down any future damage. So having seen such a big improvement in him is really promising and I think it is at least partly due to this supplement.

NAF Glucosamine

4.5kg of NAF Glucosamine 10,000 Plus MSM

Our first tub of NAF Glucosamine 10,000 lasted us well. Including a 10 days loading period of feeding double the recommended dose, our first 900g tub lasted us about 8 weeks and cost me about 22p a day. Very reasonable! Since I was happy with it, I splashed out on the 4.5kg tub. This should last us about 300 days and works out about 21p a day, so slightly cheaper than buying smaller tubs, especially when you think about delivery costs!
