It’s no secret that I have a real soft spot for the absolute power couple, TIm & Jonelle Price. I think they are both incredible riders in their own right but as a couple and core members of the Kiwi eventing team, they really are doing something pretty special.
2022 has really been the Year of Team Price. At the time of writing this, Tim is currently World Number 1 and Jonelle is number 2 in the FEI rider rankings.
Tim Price 2022
Tim has had an a particularly impressive year with 15 top 10 completions. He has also ridden in 7 5 Stars this year, (Maryland, Burghley, Luhmuhlen & Badminton.) He had 2 podium finishes at 5 star including a win with Coup De Coeur Dudevin at Maryland.
Tim also took home both Team & Individual Bronze at this years World Championships of Eventing.
Jonelle Price 2022
Jonelle has also had a great year. She has 9 top 10 completions. She has had 5 starts at 5 Star (Pau, Burghley, Luhmuhlen, Badminton & Kentucky.) From these she has had 2 podium finishes including a recent win at Pau with Grappa Nera.
She was also part of the Bronze medal team at the World Championships.
Looking toward the Olympics
With Paris Olympics on the horizon Team Price have a fantastic selection of horses to consider taking. In a recent interview after her Pau win, Jonelle has said Grappa Nera could be a good Olympic prospect. Both Tim and Jonelle have a lovely selection of young horses coming through and performing at top level. That it is easy to see New Zealand performing very well at Paris!
