Back in October I treated myself to a pair of Kentucky Storm Jodhpur boots from Bareback Footwear. While they are riding boots, this isn’t what I bought them for. I bought them to be an every day winter boot for all occasions. I thought they looked far too smart to wear them in the mud at the yard.

Incredibly Comfortable

Just like the Quebec boots, the Kentucky Storm boots are incredibly comfortable. They are made from a lovely soft leather that takes virtually no wearing in. Unlike other brands of boots I have tried over the years, I didn’t go through the painful phase of rubs while shaping the boots to my feet. They were just comfortable right away.

They became my every day boots over winter. From commuting into London for work, to family parties and date nights. These were my go to boots, especially with all the cold, wet weather we had this year. I have walked miles in them and I just love them.

Adjustable & Quick to pull on/off

I think laces automatically give boots a smarter appearance. They also allow for more adjusting in the fit of the boot. But laces can be a faff when you want to just slip your boots on and rush off. The Kentucky Storm Jodhpur Boot solves this problem by adding a zip. Once you have got your laces to the perfect tightness, you never have to change them again. You can simply slip the boot on and off thanks to the zip.

Kentucky Storm Jodhpur Boot features

Waterproof & perfect for country life

Not only are these boots gorgeous, but they have been designed to cope with country life. They are completely waterproof. When you combine this with the breathable, thermal lining, they are perfect for keeping your feet warm and dry no matter the weather or the conditions.

4 beautiful colours

The Kentucky boot comes in 4 colours; black, mocha, bordeaux and forest green. I went with the forest green, to match my smart winter coat. I think the colour is absolutely gorgeous. All colours are available in sizes 3 – 11.5 UK. Although some sizes look to sell out quickly. I find them true to size. I buy 7.5 UK in virtually all shoes and they fit perfectly. But reviews on the website suggest they can run a little small.

Very reasonably priced

At £149.99 they are perhaps a bit expensive for an every day shoe for commuting to the office. But when you consider how comfortable they are, and how versatile they are, I think they are very reasonably priced. I never spend less than £100 on comfortable, waterproof shoes for the yard or walking over muddy fields with the dog. If that’s what you want these for, then the price is very good. Especially if you can take advantage of the Factory Seconds sale. These are shoes that aren’t “perfect” visually when they leave the factory but are still in great working condition. You can sometimes save £25, maybe more on these boots.

Invest in coloured polish

I don’t know if it just the green colour, but I have found that these boots do scuff quite easily, affecting the colour. But no matter what colour you decide to buy, there is clear and coloured wax for all colours (apart from green.) If, like me, you need a green top up, there is also a green cream. I have used this on my boots with good results.
