Books by Ruby Butchers
For as long as I could remember loved writing. As a child and teenager I was constantly creating some fictional story in my head and would start turning some of these into written stories, although I never finished them. When I started blogging, it felt like the perfect outlet for this creativity. I enjoyed it, it kept my mind busy and gave me purpose. Blogging then turned into a second job for me. It brings in some pocket money to spend on Scottie, a huge bonus from something I really enjoy doing.
A few years ago I was inspired to build on some of my most popular blog posts and publish my first ever book; A step by step guide to buying your first horse. This was a huge achievement and something I never thought would happen. It’s never going to be a best seller, but I always hoped that it would help people coming from non horsey backgrounds, like I did. Since publishing this, I have been brainstorming some more ideas for helpful guides for horse owners.
But I am still drawn to fiction. I still find myself coming up with ideas for stories and writing the occasional scene to see how I feel about it. I always have plenty of ideas saved in a folder, but only a few ever get beyond a couple thousand words. Being so involved in the horse world, I almost felt like my fiction books should be horsey. And while I do have some exciting horse fiction ideas on the go, fantasy romance is what I love reading and writing. So this is what I am going to start pursuing.
